Public Service Awards and Recognition Ceremony

National Public Service Day 2014 will be celebrated on Friday, January 9, 2015 under the theme, "An Efficient Service, A Sustainable Future!" The highlight of this year's observance will be an Awards and Recognition Ceremony scheduled for 6:00pm at the Arawak House of Culture.

At the Ceremony, seventy seven (77) retired public officers will be recognized for services rendered to the Commonwealth of Dominica and their tremendous contribution to the development of the Public Service spanning over a period of 30 to 40 years.

In addition awards will be bestowed on various serving public officers for extraordinary performances in the execution of their duties. One (1) Award will be bestowed per category as follows:-

  • Temporary Officer Award
  • Junior Officer Award
  • Senior Officer Award
  • Middle Management Award
  • Team Award
  • Minister for the Public Service Award (Best Attendance)
  • Winning Theme Award
  • Senior Management Award
  • Chief Personnel Officer's Award
  • Public Officer of the Year Award

The observance of Public Service Day is an opportunity to heighten awareness of the public sector’s role in the country’s national development and to forge greater relationships with stakeholders.
